Thank you Sargento for sponsoring this post, all opinions expressed are my own.

It’s no secret that I’m not the best cook. I like recipes that are easy to execute, are quick and healthy, and that my kids will eat! If you’re a mom, that might sound impossible to you. I have two picky eaters so I have a few tricks up my sleeves. I’ve found a handful of recipes that work wonders for our little family. Today, I’m going to share with you a favorite that gets bonus points, because not only is it easy to pack in kids’ lunchboxes, it’s visually appealing too.

I was born and raised in France, so I like to think that I know a thing or two about good cheese (other than it’s hard to come by in the USA). I love Sargento® natural cheese because it’s not process cheese and is perfect for kid friendly recipes. The boys love it, and that speaks for itself. In fact, Jude likes it so much that he steals it straight out of the package. I started experimenting to see if I could get creative with some recipes that use Sargento® cheese and came up with these delicious turkey and cheese pinwheels for Jude’s lunchbox. Enjoy!

Turkey and cheese pinwheels recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 Sargento® Mild Cheddar slices
  • 3 slices of turkey
  • 1 flour tortilla (or corn)
  • A spoonful of sour cream
  • A bit of lettuce

Directions:

  • Lay your tortilla and spread sour cream all over it
  • Sprinkle some lettuce
  • Evenly lay out your slices of turkey
  • Do the same with your 3 Sargento® Mild Cheddar slices
  • Starting from one end, roll it up tightly like a rug

Pro-tip: Put toothpicks along your rolled pinwheel so when you cut it the slices don’t unravel. A toothpick in each slice will hold the pinwheel together.

Try it and let me know what you think? I’ll be honest with you, there is one downside… Jude eats it as I pack it into his lunchbox. You may have to make this one in secret 😉
