How I’m practicing wellness in 2018
I’m not as young as I used to be… and neither is my body! What does that mean? Apart from the painfully obvious, the ways in which I used to treat (and abuse) my body aren’t really compatible with feeling good as I’ve gotten older. So a little while back, I, Willy, as a 30 year old, decided to make some changes to improve my quality of life, and here’s how it went.
Where did that belly come from?
The first sign was the most obvious one. I had developed a little pot belly over the course of my late twenties. It’s no great mystery as to why it was there and where it came from – I ate the wrong foods at the wrong time of day and didn’t exercise at all. So when a wedding invitation came in the mail, I finally had an explicit target: I was going to lose weight by that wedding!
It took me a while to get going but the process could not be more simple: burn more calories than I consume. Thanks to modern tech, it’s super easy to log the food you eat into one of those apps that tracks calories. So I did just that. The other component was getting a $15/month gym membership and planting my ass on a stationary bike and pedaling until I hit my calorie goal. At the time, it was 30. I watched TV on my phone, and after a couple times going I hit a rhythm and haven’t looked back. I lost 30 pounds for the wedding and kept it off.
Why do I feel so bad?
Shortly after this, I started developing these bouts of nausea and headaches. I chased down many possible causes – food allergies, incompatibility with oily foods, some stomach bacteria I was tested for – but nothing made sense. I was losing weight through my other efforts, but I was getting sick for 24 hours every few months.
So I googled, and googled, and googled for possible causes. Everything under the sun seemed like a possibility. Finally, after two successive bouts of sickness came after working outside in the heat without drinking enough water, I realized that dehydration must be playing a role. Also, I had eaten large amounts of pasta the night before, both times.
Finding solutions
So I went gluten-free, and made a conscious effort throughout the day, everyday, to drink a lot of water. Miraculously, since going gluten-free, without changing anything else I’ve lost another 25 pounds. That said something to me. My body was not productively using the pasta and bread I was consuming. If it was just turning to fat, that’s not good.
But something else played a role in my recovery too. It was a product I’d heard about previously many times when researching several different ailments. It came up when googling supplements to help with Charlie’s autism. That product showed up as a widely popular treatment to encourage good sleep habits. It came up as a treatment for anxiety. It showed up as a miraculous treatment for children with seemingly incurable epilepsy…
And when I was coming to the realization that the symptoms I’d been experiencing may not be gastrointestinal at all but from migraines, you guessed it, this same product showed up online with so many testimonials from thankful users. Of course I’m talking about hemp oil with that “magic” ingredient, CBD.
Why Lazarus Naturals Hemp Oil?
So many people swear by this stuff . It’s amazing once you start digging into the testimonials online. Inflammation of various types seem to the culprit in such a variety of ailments. CBD has amazing anti-inflammatory properties. CBD itself is a chemical that naturally occurs in and is extracted from hemp, but it’s not psychoactive like its chemical cousin THC. For those wondering, it’s legal in all 50 states because it’s derived from hemp, not cannabis, and doesn’t create a “high” in the user like THC does. CBD cannot be used as a drug in the way marijuana can be.
I’m not the type of person to just grab any product off the shelf and buy it. I study labels, compare prices and ingredients, and research companies before making a decision. I might stand in the cracker aisle of the grocery store for 10 minutes, reading and comparing before I make a decision.
When it came to choosing a hemp oil, I knew nothing. So I found a CBD forum on reddit that through their investigation, compiled a list of recommended companies based on the quality of their extraction procedures and each company’s third-party purity verification.
From that list, I compared the price of each company’s CBD tincture per mg of CBD, which led me to one company with verifiably pure CBD oil at the lowest price per mg of CBD: Lazarus Naturals [https://lazarusnaturals.com/]. And that is why I reached out to Lazarus Naturals to collaborate (and not the other way around).
What is CBD and why take it?
My experience with CBD has been wholly positive. Since focusing on proper hydration and taking between 20 and 50 mg of CBD per day (0.4 to 1 ml of tincture), I haven’t had a single migraine. Not one. I even like the taste of the oil too! Probably because they uniquely blend the CBD extract with organic hempseed oil, fractionated coconut oil, and organic avocado oil. It’s also vegan, gluten-free, and pesticide-free.
I truly encourage you guys to read a little about hemp oil and CBD [https://lazarusnaturals.com/cbd-info/]. So many people out there seem to benefit from CBD in so many ways. If any of you want to take the step and try it out, if you feel overwhelmed by the torrent of information out there, feel assured that the research I’ve already done in choosing a brand is research you can trust. Lazarus Naturals hemp oil sells for the best prices I’ve seen for a trustworthy CBD company, and I’m so happy I made the decision to reach out to them and give it a shot.
