Profound autism

Profound autism is being exhausted 24/7 and still loving your child with every fiber of your being.

It’s cleaning up spills, smears, and broken things while your heart breaks for how hard the world is for them.

It’s praying for five minutes of quiet, then missing them.

It’s smiling when people say “he looks so happy,” knowing they don’t see the hours of screaming that came before.

It’s celebrating one bite of food like a medal,

and mourning how hard eating can be.

It’s longing for a normal day, then realizing this is your normal…chaotic, raw, and somehow still full of love.

Profound autism is beauty and heartbreak living side by side.

It’s patience you never thought you had.

It’s strength you never asked for.

It’s love that refuses to quit. ❤️
