When your baby grows up…

Seeing our babies grow up is bittersweet. At least, it is for me. I love seeing Jude become his own little person but I also miss the baby stage. I remember the first few months when Jude needed to be held 24/7. It was difficult for me to get anything done but I knew that soon enough I’d miss those moments. There are things I wasn’t prepared for as mom, and diaper blowouts were definitely one of them. I didn’t learn about those in my prenatal classes! Not too long ago, it was a regular day in the Lamb household when suddenly I saw the chaos. Well, technically I didn’t see anything. Oh no. I smelled it. And smell it I did. That stinky stink of the stench of poop that’s not in the confines of a diaper. I heard the grunts, I smelled the smell, and I finally saw it. Poop seeping out from every edge of the diaper, down the legs, up the back onto the blanket… Poop everywhere. Motherhood is glamorous, isn’t it? I eventually learned with some accuracy to predict when a blowout was imminent from the look on Jude’s face. His eyes were as big as marbles and his tongue stuck out. These signs of extreme concentration paired with the grunting announced the dreaded poopsplosion. The first time it happened I was shocked, and honestly quite impressed too by how big of a mess my tiny human could make. IMG 7227

Triple-Paste®: the problem-solver

Sadly, blowouts often caused my kids to develop rashes and that was no fun. They caused them, and still cause Charlie and Jude a great deal of discomfort and pain. My happy babies weren’t so happy after a poopsplosion. As a mom, one of the hardest things for me is to see my children in pain without being able to help them. I feel powerless. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for me to find an effective solution for diaper rash in Triple Paste® ointment. There was always a mix of emotions after a blowout. From the initial amusement to the fear of a bad rash, but Triple Paste eased that second part for me. I remember one time, I had an important in-home meeting with Charlie’s therapist when Jude started making the poopsplosion precursor face. Then the grunting began and I knew what was coming. Thankfully, the therapist, who was also a mom, was able to laugh it up with me. A clean diaper, a bit of Triple Paste®, and a load of laundry later, and all was well. trrtr 1

Always be prepared

There’s no diaper rash I haven’t been able to eliminate with Triple Paste® ointment so I make sure to always have it in my blowout blues bag. Even now that Jude is a big boy, he still gets rashes sometimes and Triple Paste still works as well as when he was a tiny baby. It’s gentle enough that I can use it everyday and it treats even the most stubborn rashes. Triple Paste is also super easy to get. I find it at all the stores I shop at like Target, Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens. For more info about Triple Paste® ointment and how it keeps babies happy, visit their website —> here.
