Instagram: Don’t compare, no relationship is perfect.

Instagram isn’t a great place if you struggle with insecurity. It’s hard to feel self-confident when all you see are people’s highlight reels. I feel guilty posting happy couple photos because our behind-the-scenes moments aren’t always glorious. The good moments are real but you don’t see the difficult ones. While we love each other, we also get on each other’s nerves, and sometimes for the most stupid things. But we’re not the only ones! I can assure you that even the most perfect Instagram couples fight. It’s just easier to post a photo with a beautiful caption and rave about our “perfect” life than to admit we have flaws. Maybe we even lie to ourselves in an attempt to feel better. Admitting we’re not perfect is vulnerable and being vulnerable is hard! So today, I want you to know that it’s okay if you don’t always get on well with the person you share your life with. What matters is that you don’t give up at the first sight of struggles. What matters is that you keep loving even when things are hard. Don’t compare. You’re writing your own story.
